Kitchen Manager Pro ("the Service"), operated by Rafa García del Valle ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Norwegian law.

2. Data We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text)
• Business name (optional)

Content You Create

The Service stores the data you enter, including:

• Recipes, ingredients, and supplier information
• Stock counts and inventory records
• Event plans and scaling data
• Uploaded photos (invoices, delivery notes)

Usage Data

We automatically collect basic usage data such as login timestamps and feature usage to improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide and maintain the Service
• Process your recipes, ingredients, and stock counts
• Send account-related emails (welcome, subscription confirmation, trial expiry)
• Improve features and fix bugs

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Payment Processing

All payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVC on our servers. Stripe processes your payment data in accordance with PCI DSS standards. We only receive a confirmation of payment status and a Stripe customer identifier.

5. AI Features & Third-Party Services

The Service uses AI to power certain features:

• OpenAI — used for natural language processing of ingredient data and recipe text. Text content from your recipes or invoices may be sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI does not use API data to train models.
• Google Cloud Vision — used for optical character recognition (OCR) when you upload photos of invoices or delivery notes. Photos are sent to Google's API for text extraction and are not retained by Google after processing.

These services process your data solely to provide functionality within the Service. We do not send your data to any AI service for purposes other than providing features you use.

6. Cookies & Analytics

The Service uses essential cookies for authentication (session tokens). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We may use basic analytics to understand usage patterns and improve the Service.

7. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, managed infrastructure. We use industry-standard security measures including:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Encrypted database storage
• Secure password hashing
• Regular security updates

8. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and content within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — correct any inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Portability — receive your data in a portable format. The Service supports exporting your recipes, ingredients, and stock data to PDF and CSV.
• Restriction — request that we limit processing of your data
• Objection — object to processing of your data
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

10. International Transfers

Your data may be processed by third-party services (Stripe, OpenAI, Google Cloud) with servers outside the EEA. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses.

The Service is designed for professional use and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
